Kim K. Steffan
Ms. Steffan received her B.A. magna cum laude from Duke University in 1983, and her J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986. She has been in general practice since 1986, most of that time in Hillsborough. Ms. Steffan serves as Vice Chair of the Regional Advisory Board for UNC’s Small Business and Technology Development Center. She is a past president of the Orange County Bar Association. She has spoken to various groups on estate planning, business law, family law, and other topics. From time to time, she serves as a volunteer guest faculty member at seminars and workshops at the UNC Law School. Ms. Steffan writes the monthly “Ask the Lawyer” legal column for the News of Orange County. She received the 2009 Work Life Balance Award presented by the N.C. Association of Women Attorneys.
Margaret S. (“Maggie”) Davis
Before becoming associated with Steffan & Associates, P.C., Ms. Davis worked as an attorney for a firm in Durham. Ms. Davis obtained her law degree from the University of North Carolina in 2011, where she was Executive Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology, and a Board Member of the Environmental Law Project. She served as an Extern in the N.C. Office of Administrative Hearings, where she worked with a broad range of legal issues. Prior to law school, Ms. Davis worked for several years as a legal and administrative assistant at the Southern Environmental Law Center. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the New College of Florida in 2002, where she received the William Rose Memorial Scholarship. After college, Ms. Davis served as a volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corps in The Gambia, West Africa, where she developed an ongoing, national program to promote tree planting in a heavily deforested area.
