Business Law
We enjoy helping small and medium-sized businesses start and grow. We help our clients choose the best business entity for them, e.g., incorporation, limited liability company.
Employment Law
Our firm represents employers and employees in their respective employment law matters. This diversity gives us the balanced perspective needed to assess cases realistically when we give our clients advice. Representing both employers and employees gives us a better understanding of the needs of both. This means our only “agenda” is providing each client with the best legal representation given the needs of that client’s particular case.
Estate Administration and Probate
When a family member has passed away, it is usually necessary to administer that person’s estate. That process is also called “probate.” We help many clients with the estate administration process. Our goal is to make the process as easy for you as we are able. We will do as much or as little of the administration work as you would like.
Estate Planning
Our firm assists clients with a variety of estate planning needs. We welcome clients with estates and needs of all sizes.
Family Law
Our firm can assist you in all areas of family law including those areas related to the end of a martial relationship and planning for a marital relationship. Many of these issues can be resolved by agreement and the terms of the agreement can be put in a formal, legal document such as a separation agreement, premarital agreement, or consent order. Our firm can negotiate the terms of and can prepare these legal documents for you. If the issues can’t be resolved by agreement, we may need to ask the court to hear the case and make the necessary decisions. Our firm has years of experience negotiating and litigating family law issues.
General Litigation
We provide zealous representation for clients involved in litigation matters. While subjects of litigation can be included in one of the other topics listed (like business litigation or family law litigation), there are many types of lawsuits that do not neatly fit in one of those “pigeonholes.”
Personal Injury and Wrongful Death
When you or one of your family members is injured or killed by someone’s action or inaction, who should bear the burden of that loss? Frequently injured persons or the family members of deceased individuals find themselves left with an unexplainable loss, both personally and economically.
Real Estate
Whether you are buying or selling real estate, refinancing your home mortgage, or need help preparing documents required by the County, we can assist you with your real estate needs.
Workers’ Compensation
North Carolina Workers’ Compensation law is complex – including forms, statutes and rules governing the rights of workers injured on the job. Insurance companies use this complexity to their advantage every day in order to prevent injured workers from obtaining the compensation they are due.
